In Paranoia Agent, the citizens of Musashino are terrorized by a young boy on rollerskates, wielding a broken bat. Victims “Lil’ Slugger” are left giving vague descriptions of his appearance to the detectives investigating the attacks. However, Lil’ Slugger’s aggression carries a pattern, and each person assaulted by him is targeted because of their own personal tragedy.
